Messy Church

Families, food and fun, craft, creativity, celebration and chat.

That’s what makes Messy Church so popular in so many places, and, three cheers! because...

is coming to The Akeman Benefice. Messy Church is a rapidly-growing nationwide activity which aims to provide people of all ages with a relaxed, creative time together, followed by a very short, informal worship time and then a meal. It is NOT a leave-your-children-and-collect-them-later event but very much for the whole family to have a good time together and to have the chance to chat with others, too. Activities for all ages are provided. It aims to be very accessible and friendly. The whole thing will last about an hour and a half, including the meal, and will be monthly, on a Sunday afternoon, in Kirtlington Church.

The first ever Messy Church in our villages will take place on Sunday January 29th, 4 - 5.30pm. Come along and give it a try. No need to book, though catering will be easier if you let us know you are thinking of coming, so you can email Joanna on After that, the next few dates are: Sundays Feb 26th, March 25th, April 22nd, and May 27th.
