Temporary Stopping up of Footpaths and Bridleway level crossings

2  Wendlebury Footpaths 398/2 and 398/3

3  Oddington Footpath 318/5

The Chiltern Railways (Bicester to Oxford Improvements) Order 2012 (“the Order”) was made under the Transport and Works Act 1992 by the Secretary of State for Transport on 23 October 2012 and came into force on 13 November 2012.

 

The Order authorises Network Rail to construct a new railway (including the reconstruction of the existing railway) between Bicester and Oxford together with the construction or reconstruction of stations at Bicester Town, Islip, Water Eaton and Oxford.

To enable construction the Order authorises Network Rail to close streets and footpaths for any reasonable time.

 

Public Notice 1 is for the temporary closure of Wendlebury footpath 398/6 at the railway crossing. In effect this also closes Merton footpath 295/3. There are two diversion routes. Route A is along Merton footpath 295/2 and Merton bridleway 295/4 to Langford Lane and on to Wendlebury. Route B is along Merton footpaths 295/2 and 295/1 then along Wendlebury footpath 398/3 and 398/2 to Wendlebury.

 

Public Notice 2 is for the temporary closure of Wendlebury footpath 398/3 at the railway crossing. The diversion route is along a new footpath and then along Wendlebury footpath 398/2.

 

Public Notice 3 is for the temporary closure of Oddington footpath 318/5. In effect this also closes Islip footpath 260/5. The diversion route is along Islip footpath 260/4 and Oddington footpaths 318/8 and 318/7.

 

Public Notice 4 is for the closure, to all users, of the Mill Lane Islip railway crossing. The diversion is along Mill Street, The Walk/Kings Head Lane (B4027), High Street (B4027), Church Close and Kidlington Road.

 

Notice of the temporary closures and alternative routes will be published in the local press by Chiltern Railways.
