About the church
Our small but lovely Grade 2 Listed church lies at the end of Church Lane. The church aims to provide a caring and prayerful presence at the heart of village life.
St Giles’ congregation welcomes you and hopes you will feel at home in our fellowship. We hold regular services in different styles, but they are always informal and friendly.
Services are usually held on the first and third Sunday of each month at 9.30am, but do check the Church Noticeboard and the Benefice Website here for updates and special services.
St Giles’ is very happy to play host to the vibrant and versatile Wendlebury Community Choir who rehearse on Monday evenings and perform two sets of Concerts each year (in the Summer and at Christmas).
There is also a children’s play group who use the church on Saturday mornings and regular coffee mornings (look out for posters and on the village WhatsApp Group for further information).
In 2025 we installed a fully Accessible WC and a small Kitchenette / Servery, as well as a sound / AV system, so we are able to welcome and cater for all sorts of events.
Pastoral care is very important and individual members of the congregation are active in helping those in need in the village. Please get in touch with one of the Wardens or Clergy if you would like a visit or know of someone who would appreciate one.
There is a rota of local volunteers who are responsible for cleaning, flower arranging, opening up the church and the upkeep of the churchyard. Please get in touch with one of the Wardens or Clergy if you would like to help out.
The church is normally open during daylight hours. There is seating in the pews for around 80 people and in the choir stalls for a further 10. There is an area of level floor with flexible seating and tables and chairs also possible.
The Anglican church of St Giles, Wendlebury, serves the whole village. Baptisms, weddings and funerals held at the church reflect the cycle of individual lives and the corporate life of the whole community.
